Lyrics

Parried attacks from the acrid acid

By cold chill silence from a heart, that's tragic

You see, Taraji-n-Perry honey moonlights

Over just Acrimony and Netflix1

Pearl looms2 over like soda, cans shook up

Ears perked, fear lingering, the next outburst

Hoping time would be fizzling the greatest of curse3

Two lost childs, who didn't know their own self worth

Now Adult Children learning their, own self hurt4

That's just how it is when your doing this here work

Of falling in love, of having a cub

That’s why we still here singing, “One Love”

FOOTNOTES

  1. 1. Acrimony (2018) a movie write and directed by Tyler Perry staring Taraji P. Henson.
  2. 2. [The Greek Moirai] Fates loom—well actually, Clotho held the distaff (the staff holding the raw wool) and spun the thread using a spindle (not a loom), Any who, a relationship fated for doom is what I’m getting at, written by “The sun the stars the moon”? This is How You Lose Her[/Him] (by Junot Díaz)? Unless these two reverse the greatest of ancient ancestral curse(s) before the Garden of Eden. That handed down hurt from womb to tomb.
  3. 3. Personal unhealed trauma is one of the greatest curses rather than that “OG sinnin’” by Adam and Eve. Some say, “time heals all wounds,” yet in my experience, the saying often leads to procrastination. From my experience, this saying is a hopeless pray. A wish that things will fizzle out feels like I am giving up responsibility to whatever hurt feelings come up. A mindless yielding of my own power to alter past and present by acting mindfully in the here and now.
  4. 4. Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Heal from Distant, Rejecting, Or Self-Involved Parents by Lindsay Gibson (2015).
